Reason: The ms-appinstaller protocol has been disabled. How did you update to 3.5.51? I am using 3.5.46 on Windows 10 and when I click to update to 3.5.51 I get an error popup saying "Cannot open app package. For now I am using the old 3.5 until I have to upgrade my OS to Windows 11 and then I guess it won't work anymore and I'll have to find some other streaming platform for Qobuz given the fact that they won't fix their player so it can play files with a sampling rate above 96 kHz on my PC. If Audirvana offered a new model that focused on streaming only for a one-time fee I'd be interested. I'm in the minority since I'm a user who prefers to keep my local library separate from my streaming library. I use JRiver for my local files and have no desire to switch at this point. I use it solely for streaming Qobuz since the Qobuz player for Windows has always been buggy in its performance on my PC. Like I am using the old Audirvana and never gave a second thought to the new subscription plan. They should have just kept development on that product going. I'll just stick with my old, original Audirvana 3.5.51. The good thing about original Audirvana was the easy elegance with which it integrated local library and streaming services like Qobuz and Tidal - very elegant, clean, interface, good audio options, and integration of the two. So they've now kind of "re-launched" old, seat-license Audirvana as Audirvana Origin, but, if I read their marketing materials correctly, there's no integration with streaming services, so it's just for local library playback. I'm not paying for playback software as a service. I doubt too many of us Audirvana users had any interest. It was always a licensed local software client, not sofware as a service.Īfter the advent of Roon and it's SaaS model and the explosive adoption of people paying for Roon as a service, Audirvana launched Audrivana Studio, a Roon-like sofware-as-a-service version of Audirvana, last year. It was started in 2011, which predates Roon by a few years. The price of this program is around $ 167.Click to expand.Audirvana was/is a playback software for streaming and local files. Among other features, JPLAY FEMTO includes a “Hibernate” mode, which reduces the background noise created by your computer by eliminating jitter-producing processes and threads. The developers recommend Bubble UPnP for Android, but also Kinsky for Windows, macOS and iOS. Once it’s up and running, you can use it with any UPnP compatible app or hardware. This feature supports PCM audio, DSD and even claims to improve the sound quality of Tidal and Qobuz. If you want to control all your music with a single app, this is the right tool for you.Īnother app for macOS, Audirvana gives you control of your audio streaming from source to output. In addition to playing your music collection, Amarra Luxe can stream from Tidal and Qobuz. This is a useful app if you also like streaming high resolution audio. Unfortunately, MQA is currently only supported on macOS. It also supports the main high resolution formats, including FLAC, MQA and DSD. The full package is around $99, but it’s chock-full of features. This is a premium music player and in fact, it isn’t cheap. Hysolid is free and can also display the operating mode of the USB DAC you are using and current playback quality. The app is compatible with PCM audio, including WAV and FLAC up to 384 kHz and DSD from 2.8 MHz to 11.2 MHz in DSF format. Hysolid will reproduce most of the high resolution formats. This isn’t traditional media player software, it literally turns your PC into a music player controlled from your iOS or Android device. If you have your computer connected to a quality Hi-Fi system, Hysolid may be exactly what you are looking for.
